FROST
FROST - aka Dale Frost, Northeastern drummer who relocated to the South East in his late teens - has switched over to use his years of dedication spent behind the drum kit to apply his idiosyncratic understanding of rhythm and texture to electronic music production.

His approach utilises evolving loops of highly considered interweaving patterns, brought into focus with found-sound percussion over playful synthesizer and unfurled into crisp and concise instrumental tracks.

RECAST is a 4 track EP, available digitally and on limited edition CD with individually screen-printed artwork. Although exploring different sounds and techniques on each track, it remains a thoroughly compact and focused document, held together by its consistent use of micro-sampling and linear sequencing.

The title of the record is a reference to various metallic and glass object samples heard throughout which have been decontextualized and placed into the musical setting of fragmented and syncopated beats. RECAST is also a reference to FROST’s musical transformation, which has gradually shifted from contributive drummer to autonomous producer.
"..sounds like it was put together in the studio with a lot of fun and pizzazz!"
Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music

“so weird but so addictive, we are well into it!”
Abbie McCarthy, BBC Introducing/Radio 1

“one man and his short attention span, it’s really hyperactive beat music, a musical rubix cube solving itself in your ears.”
Jack Parker, Amazing Radio

“off-kilter, wonderfully odd!”
Dani Charlton, Amazing Radio
